This is Emmanuel he was my translator.

This is Margaret she was my translator for one day because Emmauel couldn't make it. It was great having a woman as a translator for a change. She told me she had worked for white people for over 20 years but she was having a hard time understanding me. I guess it was because of my Texas accent.

This is Paul I taught him and he was baptized. I'm not sure what is wrong with his arm but we gave him money so that he could go see the doctor. I had taught his sister earlier and when we were done she asked if I would go to her brother's house to teach him because he was sick and I said sure. We were walking to his house and it started raining and Emmanuel and one of the church members said we should turn back but I said a little rain never hurt anybody and that I was going to continue because there was a soul to be saved. His house was about the size of a walk-in closet and it was just the one room.

This is Martha she is one of the cooks, we are at a restaurant called Frankie's on the last day before we went to the airport.

While I was teaching this lady it started raining and I had to yell to be heard over the rain because it was a tin roof.

It was an amazing experience. We had 168 baptisms in all. My parents came home on May 29th but I stayed till June 3rd with two others. There were 5 of us all together and 2 cooks, 2 translators/coordinators, and a driver. I got sick and had to stay back at the hotel one day, it was no fun, I wished I was out with everyone else teaching the gospel. I think I'm going to tell you the rest through pictures and captions.

On the way to Ghana we had a lay over in Amsterdam so we took a tour and went to a wooden shoe factory.

This is the Hotel we stayed at it is called The Homestead Guest House. It's not to bad it has air conditioning and running water which to me is living in luxury over there because I expected less. Well we stayed at the same place last year so before I went last year I expected less.

Here is a picture of one of the 168 baptisms we had. It was one of the first baptisms of the campaign.

Things are going great. We have had 113 baptisims. It is exciting to see how the Lord is working through us. The past 2 days have been the hottest and I have sweated more than I have ever sweated before in my life. It is worth it though because souls are being saved. Well I can't say much more because we have to get back to our hotel for dinner. Keep us in your prayers and I will keep you updated.

Greetings from Ghana

So I've been in Ghana for 3 1/2 days now. I'm loving it. It is even better than last year. My parents are with me and it has been a blessing to have them here doing the lords work beside me. We have taught in 4 villages so far and we have had 54 baptisms. I really love doing mission work and would love to do this for the rest of my life. So I guess I will just have to wait and see where the lord takes me. I have already had an offer from my preacher to go with them to India but I don't know when that will be. Continue to keep us in your prayers and I will try to keep ya'll updated.

So I Lied

I said there would be another blog entry soon and here it is 2 months later and I'm just now getting around to writing another blog.
So here is another update on my life. I'm still working at Lane Bryant and they are starting to work me more hours, I'm now working 20-30 hours a week where as before I was working about 15 hours. Some of you may remember that last summer I went to Ghana for 2 1/2 weeks on a mission trip with 4 other people. We taught the gospel and 247 were baptized. It was truly a blessing. Well I get to go back this year and both my parents are going with me. We will be gone May 17-June 3. There are internet cafes over there where I can access the internet. I will try to do a couple of blogs while I am over there but the service is really slow so I don't know if I will be able to get on my blog. If I can't post a blog I will send out an e-mail. So if you want to receive e-mails from me while I'm there just make sure I have your e-mail address before I go.
I'm also going to post a few pictures on here fron last year for you to see.

Update of My Life

So I haven't written anything on here in a long time. I was going to write a blog right after Valentines Day about getting rejected but my internet was being stupid. I might still write that blog but I'm not sure, I'm still thinking about it.

So let me tell what is new in my life. I finally got a job! It is just a part time job working at Lane Bryant but it will do for now while I try to figure out what I want to do with my life. Besides I love working there and I get 40% off with my employ discount. I miss my friends and I am usually bored when I'm not working. I can't really think of anything else that is new in my life.

Looking for Love in All The Wrong Places

I'm really wanting to find the love of my life and get married. I've really started feeling that way in the past year. I am constantly being reminded that I am still single. Family members are always asking me if I have a boyfriend and when I'm going to get married and stuff like that. It seems like there is always someone saying that they want to hook me up with someone but then they never do. Sometimes it's because I told them "no that's ok" because I don't trust their judgment on who I should date.

In 2005 I made some bad choices when it came to guys. In April, I started talking with my upstairs neighbor and we were hanging out all the time and making out, the problem with that was things were moving really fast and I didn't get to know him first and ended up getting hurt (some of you know that story, I'm not going to get into it on here). In August, I went on a date with a 39 year old, great guy but obviously he was too old for me. Earlier in the year I decided to sign up on match.com just to see what would happen, I didn't really think I would get a date out of it. In September, a guy from match.com contacted me and we started e-mailing each other and getting to know each other, then towards the end of September we went on a date and it went pretty well. I agreed to go on a second date with him but we were having trouble setting it up. It was the beginning of November before we were able to go on that second date. That second date went horribly wrong, it was the worst date I ever had and I realized he really wasn't my type. Then there was another guy which I don't really know how to explain what we were or what happened, so I'm not going to explain it on here. Besides my closest friends already know that story and if you really want to know about it just ask.

I say all this because I am sick of kissing a bunch of frogs to find my prince charming. I think part of my problem with guys is even after I know that it won't work and that he will never be my prince charming I tend to keep them around. I don't know why I keep them around, I think maybe it is because I like having someone there and I figure they will do until the next guy comes around. I also tend to date jerks then don't listen to my friends when they try to tell me that they are jerks.

I have two resolutions for this year:
1. To listen to my friends when they tell me a guy is a jerk.
2. Once I've decided that it won't work with a guy I will break things off with them because there is no use keeping them around.
